James Lee Jones was convicted in the Davidson County Criminal Court on a three count indictment charging him with first degree murder, assault with intent to commit first degree murder with bodily injury, and armed robbery. He received a death sentence on the murder charge and life sentences on each of the other convictions with the sentences to be served consecutively to the sentence for murder and consecutively to each other.
